When the storms roll into the Wiregrass and surrounding areas,DixieGmrs activates the Weather Net and keeps you up to date on current conditions. We also take Storm Spotter Reports from trained weather spotters.
Supporting public safety agencies during a major emergency. We will work in cooperation with public and private organizations, including emergency management, police, fire, EMS, the Red Cross and CERT Teams. We will provide the assistance using our equipment or in other ways, as needed.Working together with other groups, such as GMRS andHAM radio clubs to develop and maintain emergency communications.
Provide training to members and the public in emergency preparedness and communications. Develop and test methods for the public, including those with disabilities, to call for emergency help when normal systems are not available.
